Abstract

Results of recent research on climate change in polar regions and the risks associated are reviewed. The accelerated nature of warming in the Arctic region and the high sensitivity of the environment and engineering infrastructure to the changes are noted. Possible ways of adaptation to these changes, mitigation of their consequences, and informational and educational aspects are considered.
