CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT OF THE INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Fulfilment of intercultural competence (MC) development as an important component of education for sustainable development (ESD) was studied. The article clarifies the concept of «the education for sustainable development» through the socio-economic theory. Also the models of intercultural competence were analyzed, in connection with which MC is considered as one of the main components in the competence structure of education for sustainable development. The article provides a comparative analysis of the structural components of the MC and ESD, in order to identify common structural components. The article provides conclusion about flexible integration of core competencies of ESD to the educational system of the Russian Federation thanks to the development of MC, that is able to consider the specific educational components for the benefit of the sustainable developmentPublished
