MANAGEMENT MOTIVATION AND EMOTINAL WELL-BEING LEADERS

This article presents the findings of a research project exploring the managerial motivation of leaders depending on the levels of their emotional well-being. We analyzed the relationship of basic human needs and basic motives of management activity and a level of emotional well-being of the leaders. The results show that the motivation of emotionally safe and emotionally dysfunctional leaders is likely to be different. The power motive of the emotionally dysfunctional leaders looks like a compensation and their managerial motivation is of immature character. Emotional well-being could be considered as a mediator that contributes to the quality of managerial motivation and used as a predictor of the maturity of leader’s motivationPublished
