Abstract

Subjects of consideration in this article are social fears and their countable significance for the decision concerning medical abortion. The article presents the results of empirical studies using a special questionnaire on social anxiety and sociophobia, diagnostics of interpersonal relations, life purport orientations and personal self-appraisal of pregnant women who make decisions about abortion. The author comes to a conclusion that social fears and individual peculiarities have a direct influence upon the decision of abortion. The necessity of special psychological training for pregnant women is viewed as the means reducing the number of medical abortion
