Abstract

This article is devoted to the problems of determining core competences constituting the foreign language communicative competency framework. In this article, authors review various domestic and foreign models of foreign language communicative competency (FLCC) and its structural components (competences), compare these FLCC models, their structure and content with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages developed by the Council of Europe and try to identify key or core competences that best reflect the FLCC content and conform to the objectives of learning a foreign language at a non-linguistic university
