Abstract

The article outlines key issues and challenges faced by the VET systems across the European Union. Success of the VET policy and its implementation are measured by labour market satisfaction, employment and employability of graduates. To ensure sustainable development of VET that would contribute to the economic growth and social cohesion the demand that would respond to the regional and local needs has to be identified and communicated to the VET system. On top of that apt regulation of the system is needed backed up by appropriate financial mechanisms
