SKILLS MISBALANCE ON THE UROPEAN LABOUR MARKET

Abstract

The article looks into a typology of skills mismatches on European labour markets and into possible reasons for such mismatches. Also ways to ensure a balance of demand and supply of skills and work force are explored and initiatives undertaken in the European Union towards this end are overviewed. Special attention is given to principles underlying the above efforts and initiatives, namely to uniting efforts and to networking, as the latter are acquiring a growing importance in the situation of globalization and of building knowledge-based economies worldwide
