The article contains basic terms and a description of key international trends in the field of quality management in vocational education and training. A brief overview is presented of the issues relating to assessment as an inherent component of the quality management systems, as well as basic principles and methods of integral assessment developed under the Copenhagen Process in the European Union countries, based on the use of learning outcomes as the key underlying concept
