TEACHER'S AUTHORITY RESOURCES AND THE ROLE OF LEGITIMATE AUTHORITY

The article addresses the role of legitimate authority and other authority resources for a teacher and specific features of legitimate authority at contemporary school. It is shown that external stimulation and personal power are used more often than legitimate authority. Legitimate authority is used by teachers in a particular way, often as they see fit and as an extention of personal power. We distinguish the types of teachers who use prohibitory rules, sensible rules and agreed rules preferentially. School democratization implies preferential use of teacher's legitimate authority.
