Abstract

The contemporary school is up against the task of readjusting to the needs of modern society that has reached the stage of informational modernization. Under the conditions of this drastic modernization it is vital to preserve the best traditions of Russian national education system that have historically evolved. This in its turn sparks the interest in both theoretical and practical aspects of legacy left by prominent Russian educators of the past. S.A. Rachinsky, headmaster and teacher of Tatevskaya School, comes among the brightest and most unique representatives of Russian system of education. This paper attempts to reveal the ideals of national school in theory and practices by Sergey A. Rachinsky.
