Professional competence as the integrated characteristic of the specialist

This article examines the basic scientific approaches to the concept of «professional competence» and considers the structure and substantial professional competence of specialists (including social workers) in domestic and foreign psychological and educational literature. It is shown that the professional competence of advocates of integrative personality characteristics determines the ability to effectively and efficiently solve problems and typical tasks encountered in real life situations by using the knowledge, training and life experiences), values and qualities, and contains a large amount of common (core) and specialized (professional) skills required by each specialist for full professional development.Downloads
