Abstract

The research on the cognitive and emotional-and-evaluating components of Russian students' ethnical self-consciousness has been done. It shows that the majority of students are characterized by a low level of ethnical self-consciousness. It is exhibited in the absence of knowledge and notions among the students about their own ethnos as well as in the negative self-identification with their ethnos. The factorization of the data gained by the semantic differential method provides us with the information about the psychological qualities of a typically Russian ethnos representative. The author of the article underlines that a bipolar emotional-evaluating attitude to the ethnical reality creates some prerequisites for forming marginal ethnic national self-consciousness.
