About the Journal

The "History" series in the "Vestnik of Tver State University" has been published quarterly since 2007. The journal features research by Russian and international scholars, including interdisciplinary works. Articles by postgraduate students are accepted for publication after peer review. The editorial board of the "History" series places great emphasis on the publication of scholarly works by young researchers and postgraduate students.

The topics of published scholarly works—by both specialists and postgraduate students—cover the history of Russia from ancient times to the present, the history of Western European countries, the history of the Russian Orthodox Church and non-Orthodox denominations in Russia, the history of the Southern and Western Slavs, historical anthropology, gender history, historiography and source studies of Russian and international history, archaeology and historical geography, historical biography, and historical museology (within the context of source studies).

Since its inception, the journal has published research by Russian scientists from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tver, Petrozavodsk, Yaroslavl, Kaluga, Ivanovo, Smolensk, Pskov, Tambov, Vladimir, Kolomna, Vyazma, and Orel, as well as works by scientists from Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, China, Ukraine, and the United States. The editorial board strives to expand the geographic reach of authors researching a wide range of topics and invites collaboration.

In its work (editing, reviewing, publishing, and assigning authorship to scientific publications), the journal's editorial board strictly adheres to the principles of publishing ethics. The journal's editorial board makes every effort to comply with ethical standards accepted by the international scientific community and the Russian Federation Copyright Law (Chapter 70 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation) and to prevent violations of these standards both in its own work and in its interactions with all participants in the scientific publication process.

The journal's editorial board is guided by ethical principles:

The decision to publish a manuscript is made by the editorial board by a majority vote. The editorial board bears collective responsibility for all materials published in the journal. The decision is based primarily on an assessment of the validity of the content and scientific significance of the work under review. Furthermore, the editorial board is guided by the journal's policy on research topics and current legal regulations regarding copyright, plagiarism, and defamatory statements.

Rejection of manuscripts due to poor scientific content is the sole responsibility of the journal's editorial board.

Manuscripts accepted for review are treated as confidential documents. The editorial board does not disclose information about the manuscript to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, other scientific advisors, and the publisher. Unpublished data obtained from manuscripts submitted for review are prohibited from being used in any form in other research without the written consent of the author. Information presented in a published article must not be used in any personal work by members of the editorial board or the editorial board without the written permission of the author. Confidential information or scientific ideas obtained during peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. The editorial board undertakes to take appropriate measures in the event of ethical or legal complaints regarding reviewed manuscripts or published materials, including the publication of clarifications, explanations, and apologies.

If a scientific article is approved for publication, a license agreement is concluded with the author, according to which the published article is made publicly available on the journal's website and in the National Bibliographic Database of Scientific Citations (RSCI; the journal's RSCI address is: https://elibrary.ru/title_about_new.asp?id=27637).
