Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of current Russian historiography and scientific understanding of the Russian presence in the Holy Land in the period from the beginning of the First World War to the end of the Soviet era. The focus is on the scientific (historical) experience of understanding the value of the Holy Land and the political and diplomatic presence in the region in political and religious contexts. The plot plan, the thematic focus of the research of the last decade, as well as the cognitive approaches of the authors are analyzed.
