Abstract

The article is an analysis of Russian-language publications devoted to the uprising that began under the leadership of K.A. Bulavin in 1707 in the Don Cossacks Region.. The basis of the analysis is a systematic approach that requires studying the uprising in 14 aspects (parameters). The conducted research has shown that the Bulavin uprising has been studied un-evenly and that every aspect of it is the subject of discussion. In addition, the author concluded that further study of the Bulavin uprising will be effective if a researcher refuses unreliable historiographical declarations. This refers to declarations that have not been verified by comparison to primary sources.
