Abstract

The problem of refugees of the First World War has been successfully studied for a long time and in great detail, using material from the local archives of European Russia is mainly used, concerning the ways of movement of migrants and their temporary accommodation. On the con-trary, reviewed study is based on a local materials from the Ural archives that reflect the life of refugees in their places of final placement. Never-theless, the authors unjustifiably claim to be an all-Russian generalization. The final part of the book, which claims to be some kind of theoretical generalization, is marked a selconfident tone in an extremely pretentious form. The conclusions drawn do not fit well with documents. In general, the ambitious pursuit of generalizations reduces the significance of concrete research material.
