Abstract

The review is devoted to the text, in which is made an attempt to consider the historiographical study of a very broad problem formulated as “The History of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War”. This attempt is actually represented by one text, designed as two books and a dissertation submitted for defense three times. Based on the volume of the reviewed work and the impossibility of its detailed analysis within the article, atten-tion is paid only to the documentary basis of the study, as well as to the effectiveness of the use of memoir literature. The conclusion is made about the lack of proper scientific study of these types of historiographical sources, and therefore about the dubiousness of the author's conclusions.
