Abstract

The article is devoted to the historiographical characteristic of the specificity of existence of the community in Podvinye that was a part of Lithuania. Much attention is given to the development of tendencies of ancient Russia in Toropets as a part of Lithuania. In historiography there are discussion of formation of syabr’s community, social system and local authority. The author conclude that there are a lot of papers analyzing existence of the community in Podvinye, but there are still a lot of unexplained questions, that’s why we don’t have a complete picture of existence of Russian land in Lithuania.
