Abstract

The author responds to sharp criticism from the Moscow historian V.A. Kuchkin to an article written by P.D. Malygin and S.V. Bogdanov. Based on the reference to the texts of the chronicles and the research of histori-ans, it is shown that the critical remarks of V.A. Kuchkin about the poor methodological preparedness of P.D. Malygin (about his use of «non-research techniques», about «logical tricks», about ignorance of «extraordinary truths», etc.) and about the unreliable conclusions to which he comes, are unfounded and unproven.
