Abstract

The article examines the structure of a modern Orthodox parish in the context of the system of church government and a set of tools of restraint and control that are found in the relationship between the subjects of community management. The author aims to identify the potential of the parish, which the author considers an important task for achieving the spiritual revival of Russia as one of the tasks of the Russian Orthodox Church. Auto analyzes mainly the provisions of the Charter of the Russian Orthodox Church. The article indicates the inconsistency and vagueness of certain norms of the Charter, as well as a bias in favor of the powers of the diocesan bishop to the detriment of local church self-government.
