In the article on the basis of published and unpublished archival material from the funds of the GATO, CGIA SPb., PFA RAN, NA TGOM exam-ines scientific and personal contacts two organizers of archives in Russia, Nikolai Vasil'evich Kalachov and August Kazimirovich Zhiznevskij. Correspondence is of particular interest to scientists, showing the intensity of scientific contacts between metropolitan and regional centers of Russia in the second half of the XIX-th century. This article analyzes the features of management of Tver scientific archive Commissionone of the oldest in Russia, regional scientific organizations, a specialist at the studyes of history, ethnography, archaeology, arheography, protection of monu-ments Antiquities, archival, Museum and library. Thanks to confidential personal and scientific contacts between N.V. Kalachov and A.K. Zhiznevskij Commission was able in a short time become a significant centre of historical sciences and archival in the Russian provinces.Downloads
