Abstract

The article deals with the formation and functioning of the Orthodox par-ish on the territory of the Palace Karelian volosts of Bezhetsk district. The study is based on the census books of the early 18th century, materi-als of the I and II revision lists, documentation of the churches of Bezhetsk district, as well as materials of registers of births and confessions. The author reveals the basic directions of activity of the priest in the Karelian parish considers part of his family, analyzes the process of formation birth, of the clergy in the territory of Bezhetsk district. In conclusion, an attempt is made to make a portrait of the Karelian priest in the Palace volosts of Bezhetsk district.
