ABOUT STUDY OF IDEOLOGICAL-THEOLOGICAL EPISTLE IN AGIOGRAPHICAL LITERATURE OF THE FIRST HALF OF XVI CENTUTY (TO FORMULATION THE PROBLEM)

In this article, on the material of the lives of the saints from the Great Mineyas of Metropolitan Macarius, the ideological and theological sub-jects in the 16th century hagiographic literature are explored. The author notes that in the historiography there is a widespread assessment of the works of life of the era of Metropolitan Macarius as literary works created with a spiritual and educational purpose, the heroes of lives and their flawless life serve as an example for imitation. The lives of the socalled Makarievsky period performed tasks of a political nature and were ideologically aimed at strengthening the Russian state. As numerous studies in this area show, such an assessment is generally fair. But, according to the author, a comprehensive study of hagiographic works, taking into ac-count the stabilization of Christian theological terminology on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach, will help illuminate new, previously un-noticed features of their influence and perception by society at different historical stages.Downloads
