Abstract

The article deals with the micro-region of the mouth of the Shoshа river in the upper Volga basin. On the basis of the analysis of materials of ar-chaeological excavations, as well as the integrated use of written data, cartographic and visual sources, an attempt is made to locate and identify archaeological sites and settlements in the period of XVI – XIX centuries. The article examines the historical transport infrastructure of the micro-region, its changes and significance in the old Russian time, in the late middle ages and Modern times.
