In the early 1930s, Moscow considered plans to establish a Trade Agency of the USSR in Northern Norway. These plans were due to the desire of the USSR to find a way out of the current political crisis in relations with Norway. The negative attitude of the political and state leadership of the USSR to these plans was due to a number of reasons, including: limited export potential, the inability to provide its own logistics of supplies of goods to Norway, the lack of currency. Due to these factors, plans to develop trade with Northern Norway through Murmansk were stillborn.Published
