Abstract

The article is an analysis of the unexplored problem of the of international friendship by correspondence schoolgirls in societies of late socialism in the GDR and the Soviet Union, speaking at the same time an element of their daily life and the way of constructing the image of socialist everyday life. Basing on unpublished materials of letters, published normative and ideological sources, written and visual, are analyzed the correlation of «ideological» and «non-ideological» in letters of schoolgirls in GDR. Special attention is paid to functionality and gender of international correspondence of schoolgirls, discourse of letter addressed to foreign counterparts, the influence of the image of the «other» everyday to intercultural perceptions and attitudes proper to «their» daily. The author arrives at a conclusion that GDR was for the Soviet schoolgirls the «close» and «understandable» Otherwise of the so-cialist camp.
