Abstract

The article presents the results of a research of Western European and Eastern gold-metallic fabrics, which existed in the Muscovy. In this con-text, Iranian, Turkish and Italian fabrics widely studied in Russian science and less well-known French, Chinese, Indian and Transcaucasian fabrics are analyzed. The emphasis is on fabrics of the XVI–XVII centuries, because it is peak time of the textiles made with the inclusion of metal threads. The study clarifies typological series of golden textile and terminology that characterizes this series. We are distinguished the most significant characteristics of gold-metallic fabrics, allowing him to perform an important representative role in the Moscow court. This is delicate introduction of gold-metallic threads, color restraint, large rapport and original composite and ornamental constructions.
