Abstract

The article presents the results of the demographic and territorial analysis of a Palace of the Karelian volost a Bezhetsk district. The study was con-ducted on the basis of unpublished, archival sources of the early XVIII century, mainly census books. Focuses on the characteristics of adminis-trative, geographical position and status of the Palace of the Karelian volost a Bezhetsk district, as well as comparing the number of Karelians in 1710 with 1723-1726. The issue of localization of the territory of settlement of Tver Karelians in Bezhetsky district is considered. The most identified area of compact residence of the Karelians in the territory Iwicki, Prudovsky, Yurkinskomu, Medvezhiegorsk and Sandovsky and Pyatnitskaya Palace Karelian volost.
