Abstract

This article analyzes the book G. N. Ponomarev. In it, the author places the place of death of Duke of Tver’ Mikhail Yaroslavich in the Nazran’ district of the Ingush Republic near the village of Achaluki. It is proved that the technique of the work of G. N. Ponomarev is characterized by serious shortcomings that characterize non-professional researchers-«historians». The localization presented to G. N. Ponomarev is unfounded and erroneous. Based on the attraction of historical information that was ignored by G. N. Ponomarev and his predecessors, it is proved that the place of the death of the Duke of Tver should be sought in the Khasavyurt district of the Republic of Dagestan. Only this area corresponds to the geographical nomenclature of domestic historical sources.
