The author reviews another collective monograph by V.P. Buldakov and T.G. Leontieva «1917. Elites and crowds: cultural landscapes of the Rus-sian Revolution» (Moscow: EastLit, 2017. 624 pp.) devoted to the study of cultural collisions of the epoch, in which ideas about the past, present and future of the country of elites and crowds collided. The authors draw attention to the fact that the socio-cultural conflict has become apparent not only vertically, i.e. between the representatives of different social groups, but also horizontally - even among the representatives of the same artistic trends one could find diametrically opposite ideas. Among the reasons for this are both the general socio-cultural crisis, the omens of which are found in the Silver Age culture as a swan song of an epoch, and the fact that the turmoil spurred the fantasies of contemporaries, filled them with ambivalent emotions, on the one hand, complicating the rational perception of reality, on the other hand, allowing to predict the near future.Downloads
