Abstract

On the basis of various sources the author comes to the conclusion about the absence of most of the officers of the Tambov garrison clear political positions in the revolutionary events of 1917-1918 yy. The author claimed that they sincerely survived “the March” revolutionary mood anl returned to the usual service, often combining it with narrow-minded staying in their families. After October revolt the rise of the counter-revolutionary Tambov officers were quite visible, but was not very strong. The local Soviet authorities eliminate this threat relatively easily, in January 1918 to disarm the officer “shock battalion”, to eliminate the “officer's revolt” in June 1918. After that a significant portion of officers plunged into the “humdrum life”.
