Abstract

The article is devoted to problems of interaction of the clergy and the po-lice apparatus in Olonets province. Source base were the materials of the Russian legislation and the judicial and investigative proceedings. It was found that in the XIX-beginning of XX century, in collaboration of clergy and ministers of the law has developed a number of important areas. These include maintaining order during the services, supervision of sale icons. Priests who are familiar with the dialects of the local population, became translators during the investigation and during the court proceedings. An important area of the cooperation of the clergy and the police became active opposition to the influence of the Old Believers. Clergy and police cooperation system is firmly fixed in the minds of his contemporaries fact the church subordination state apparatus.
