Abstract

In article questions of the organization of life of teachers of the Tver (Kalinin) teacher's Institute are considered: accommodation, food, clothes, salary and adaptations of the scientific intellectuals to conditions of the Soviet reality. The author notes that transformation of household culture of teachers of the higher school happened under the influence of social and economic and political processes. The scientific intelligentsia of the 1920s–1930s was divided into «old» and «new», the interaction was difficult, which was especially noticeable at the domestic level. Article is written on the basis of the materials of fund of the Kalinin teacher training college, personal fund of A. N. Vershinsky which are in the State archive of the Tver region, memoirs of teachers and students of institute of the 20-40th of the 20th century.
