Abstract

Vasily Tarasenko – head of the Department of General history and Dean of the historical faculty of the Kalinin pedagogical Institute. In Tver, V. S. Tarasenko went from student to Dean. His scientific works are de-voted to ancient history. He was a specialist in the political history of the Hellenistic Roman period of antiquity. In his scientific heritage can distinguish three types of work: 1) the political history of the state on the example of the Bosporan Kingdom, 2) the unions policies as a form of political life in the Hellenistic period, for example Aetolos and Achaean unions, 3) biographies of political figures of the Hellenistic-Roman era, based on the texts of Polybius and Pliny the Younger.
