Abstract

Festivals were integral to the Bolshevist political tradition. The research has been undertaken with a view to understand the mechanism of the 7th of November Holiday formation and functioning. Research into the properties of this holiday is of importance, because it may contribute to our understanding of the processes occurring in soviet politics. Article is focused on the Soviet festivals as a special political time in particular sacred time. The analysis of the impact of the political situation on the character of festival shows that the holiday was struggle means for political influence of various groupings in the Bolshevist party and opponents of the Bolsheviks.
