Abstract

The article features matrimonial relations of rural clergy at the end of the XVIII century - during the finalization of the spiritual class in Russia. Studies are conducted on the basis of Tver district clergy census materials, held in 1795. The primary documents of census - Revision lists, provide an opportunity to consider clergy of the district in total and to draw conclusions about the nature of marriage in sacred-clergymen strategies during this period. Obtained data is compared with information about marital relationships of the city clergy of diocesan and provincial center - the city of Tver.
