Abstract

The review shows how a large collection of historiographical articles has turned into an advertising campaign non existing community of Russian historians. In this volume were collected three books published earlier. As a result the whole volume turned to a disordered medley of the few substantial and prevailing weak articles. Generally, the book mixes the work of professional historians and amateurs “mysteries of history”. However, the editor of the collection tried on this shaky basis to deduce some regularity of development of historical science, historical consciousness and historical mythology in modern Russia. These efforts should be recognized as unsuccessful, since the majority of authors did not have adequate training for such kind of project. Successful may be named only a separate articles.
