In article quality problems at plants of the Soviet aviation industry in the period of the Great Patriotic War, and activities of the party organizations for improvement of quality of the produced aviation engineering are considered. Discussions on production questions are reflected in declassified documents of the party organizations of plants, shortcomings of product quality are objectively shown. Among the reasons were called: technical, technological, a human factor – the negligent relation to the equipment, the bad help to shop from technological department. Organizational measures, the solution of technical and technological issues, personnel decisions, party and political work with people were the main directions of policy of the party organizations of aviation industry in the field of quality at the first stage of war. The special attention in work is paid to questions of personnel policy.
