Abstract

The article is devoted over allegations memoirs and historians, according to which the military reforms of Paul I was due primarily to his dislike of Catherine II and his admiration for the Prussian king Frederick II. The author argues that many of the military reforms of Paul I were progressive and holding due to the need to take account of new historical realities and achievements of military affairs. As a result of the conclusion of the feasibility and timeliness of reforms to address the problems that have accumulated in the military sphere.
