The report deals with the rural Russian clergy’s everyday life at the turn of the XIX - XX centuries at the local level. The research source base was unpublished memoirs of M.P. Loginevskaja, a granddaughter of a priest from the Yandomozersky parish, the Kizhi volost, and the recordings of the interviews with the granddaughters of priests from other parishes of the Kizhi volost of the Olonets diocese. M.P. Loginevskaja’s memories were written in the mid-1990s. Her grandfather, Archpriest Platon Loginevsky was at the head of a rural parish for fifty years. The author pays much attention to the detailed descriptions of everyday lifestyles and households in her grandfather’s family. The memories also highlight specific examples of P.I. Loginevsky’s pastoral ministry experience, showing the attitude of church people to him.Downloads
