Abstract

In the article the irratsionalization of mass consciousness of inhabitants during World War I as a result of incompleteness of the rational turn is considered. Merge of the zemstvo and central power in the opinion of the people therefore the policy of tsarism discredited representatives of zemstvo is noted. Misunderstanding by the peasantry of the reasons of the war increase relevance of such source of information as hearings in which eschatological motives are found. Thus the author notes the similar processes happening among citizens – mass hobby for mysticism, the spiritualizm caused by desire to learn time of the end of war. Analyzing form and content of rural hearings, and also studying dynamics of growth of the insane, suicide activity of city segments of the population, the author comes to a conclusion about unity of psychological and social processes.
