Historical conditions of the change of ethnic composition of the population of Alatyrskij district (XVII century)

Abstract

The article is focused on analysis of the historical events that show in what way and under the influence of what circumstances the ethnic composition of the population in the southeast of the contemporary Nizhny Novgorod area, which was included in Alatyrskij district in the XVII century, was changing. The author researches new published sources of socio-economic content and indicates that they have a great value not only for the revelation of specifics of feudal tenure, but also to the study of the subject of the establishment and development of relations of interethnic character. In the article it`s the basic information aspects and guidelines, which can be further developed in the analysis of interethnic interactions, that are outlined. The author refers to such as: special features and character of land tenure, social status of landowners, interactions between landowners and workers on the land in the context of legal framework.
