Abstract

The article examines in historical context and regiments political, economic, inter- and intraethnic conflicts in Southern Nigeria, which have jointly resulted in regional ethnopolitical crisis. Particular attention is paid to Niger Delta, the most polyethnic and conflictogenic area of the examined region abound with oil deposits, where insurgency warfare takes place since the beginning of 2000.
