Abstract

The article considers the intrachurch and social status of the orthodox bishops in postrevolutionary Russia. Political and other conditions of bishops mission, specificity of mutual relations of the bishops with the central church administration, provincial orthodox society and the power are analyzed. Objective operating conditions of church institutes in a province in 1917 – the middle of 1920th are considered.
