Abstract

This article is devoted to the researching of foreign merchants′ and diplomats′ ideas on commerce and commercials laws in Russia in the second half of the XVII century in connection with market competition between Archangelsk and the Swedish ports of the Baltic Sea. This theme is considered in connection with the history of Russian-Swedish relations and their struggle for the Baltic trade routes in this period. This problem shows the importance of Archangelsk both, for the Russian foreign trade and for the international trade. The foreign projects of shifting of the trade in Archangelsk uncover plots of those foreigners, who were displeased of new commercial rules in Russia.
