Abstract

The article is devoted to Vera Kharuzina (1866–1931) – an outstanding eth-nographer, the first woman, who had got the academic rank of the professor of ethnography in the Russian higher educational institutions. One of the subjects of her studies was a folk art (games, toys, primitive forms of drama art). Studying the folk art she applied the comparative-historical method and showed the evolution of the most interesting area of folk art during the various historical periods in different countries/
