Abstract

In article the problems caused by struggle of interests of the Russian government and Orthodox church on the one hand, and Catholic church, with another are considered. The au-thor investigates the motives by which the contradictory sides in struggle for religious-ethnic domination in Northwest edge were guided. In article the transformations which have occurred in practice of the inter-religion relations after the edition of the decree about toleration on April, 17 1905 are investigated.
