RESTORATION OF KALININ AFTER RELEASE FROM OCCUPATION

The article discusses the process of restoration of Kalinin after liberation from the German occupation in December 1941. The urban economy was in a dilapidated state, heavy damage was caused to the power grid, the textile industry. The main directions of restoration work, the activities of the authorities to coordinate them are shown. At the same time, residents had to repair and build communications, residential buildings, industrial premises, buildings of medical and children's institutions. The reasons that made it difficult to carry out the work are identified: lack of fuel, electricity, tools, necessary equipment. In almost all spheres, with the exception of trade, there were not enough qualified specialists and workers. Various ways of solving the personnel problem were used, but it was not possible to fill the shortage of workers in the spring of 1942.
