Abstract

The article continues the study of the history of the annual festival of amateur artistic creativity «Student Spring» at Kalinin State University, which was started in the last issue. The influence of the city interuniversity festival on the competition at KSU, which led to stricter administrative control and active involvement of professional specialists in the first half of the 1980s, is shown. Thanks to these measures, the number of permanent creative teams at the university has increased. Despite the successes achieved in the cultural and mass work of the university, dissatisfaction with the new orders grew at the faculties and there were more and more supporters of «students» in amateur art. The events taking place in the country had a serious impact on the Student Spring festival in the second half of the 1980s. They contributed to the weakening of administrative control over the amateur artistic activity of the university and students had more freedom for self-expression
