INVOLVEMENT OF WOMEN IN LABOR ACTIVITIES IN THE GDR

From the standpoint of gender anthropology, the article examines the process of involving women in labor activities by the authorities, and the further professional realization of women in the GDR. The article analyzes the circumstances of the post-war era that influenced the labor activity of women in the second half of the 1940s - 1950s. The factors noted in the autobiographical documents that influenced these processes were identified: distrust of women as professionals, insufficient level of education and qualifications, passive and active resistance of men who did not want to allow women to high-paying jobs, the need to combine professional employment and motherhood, including the transition to leadership positions, the degree of involvement in party activitiesPublished
